Each month, during term time, we meet at an agreed location to spend an hour or so taking photographs followed by morning coffee at a nearby coffee shop. Members of the group are encouraged, but not obliged, to post a selection of their "shots" on the blog each month.

Some ancient things in Morialta - Vale
Much of the flora you see in Morialta Park is very old. The native grass-trees or xanthorea grow very slowly and were possibly here before Captain Cook discovered Australia. The cliffs of the falls are also ancient. We are lucky to have this largely in tact area of bush on our doorstep.
Right is an example of a very old grass tree
This eucalyptus is no youngster either!!

Fab Feathers! - Vale
Such an amazing array of colours and patterns on just one bird!!
Left: A Northern Australian Kookaburra has more colour than our local but not such a laughing call.
Right: A pair of Black Breasted Buzzards from Central and Northern Australia. You never get this close in the wild, to see their lovely colours.
The rare "Green Peafowl" is found in the tropical forests of Java
and below: the male's intricate feather pattern
Right: The fabulous "Indian Peacock"
