A chance discovery (John).

 The Academy of Music in Rundle Street was fire damaged three times in the late 1800s. Two firefighters died in the fire on Christmas Eve 1886, trapped by the roof falling. Albert Clark was pulled free then died in hospital. John Gardener's body was recovered on Christmas Day. Gardener was buried in the Mitcham Cemetery. Later, a memorial drinking fountain was placed in Elder Park. Clark was buried here, in the North Road Cemetery with a memorial donated by  his friends.

 Two graves only a row apart for the families of both my father and mother.

And of a half-uncle killed in France during the first world war.
